Records of Mining

£49.99

Product description

This is a facsimile of an original published in 1829 to the end of recording the histories and changing times and methods of mining. It largely concerns Great Britain, however it does venture at times to Saxony and other areas of the world. It possesses the occasional diagram and multiple plates of images, some 'interviews' with resident miners and examines the norms of mining in areas such as Cornwall, Freyberg and elsewhere. There is a distinct focus also on the uses of emergent technology, for example steam engines and calcining furnaces. Readers of a Historiographical bent or a deep interest in mining ought to consider this book a must-buy.

Note that this book is typically available online at a much higher price than is seen here. This particular copy is in great condition, with barely a blemish minus an almost imperceptible line of wear to the rear of the cover (please see attached photos). Do not leave this book too late to purchase!
