Published in 1924 by HMSO. Volume 1, Westminster Abbey, in 'An Inventory of the Historical Monuments in London'. Produced by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (England).

A very detailed description of the interior and exterior of the Abbey, fully illustrated with black & white photographs and diagrams. Includes an alphabetical lost of monuments and floor-slabs, glossary, index, and a coloured fold-out plan of the Abbey.

There is a hand-written message on the front end paper: "O H Peasgood with best wishes from SHN, Christmas 1926". Osborne Harold Peasgood (1902 –1962) was an organist at Westminster Abbey who played at a number of state occasions in the Abbey, including the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

In generally good condition. Some wear and darkening to the cover. The spine is a bit skewed, and the corners are bumped. The pages are clean and the binding is sound.
