Selected Letters of Lord Chesterfield [World's Classics, 1929]

£14.99

Product description

Undated, published around 1929 by Humphrey Milford at Oxford University Press, World's Classics edition.

A fascinating selection of letters; many to his son, by one of the prominent figures of the eighteenth century. Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield, KG, PC (1694 – 1773) was a British statesman, diplomat, man of letters, and an acclaimed wit of his time.

A scarce World's Classics original edition, edited with an introduction by Phyllis M Jones in 1929. It includes a biographical table at the front and an index.

Complete with original dust jacket which does have quite a bit of damage, with tears and pieces missing. However other than some light wear on the corners the book itself is in a reasonable condition, with a sound binding.
