The Busy B's

Product description

Violet Mary Methley was a prolific author of short stories and novels for children and adults. She specialized in stories for girls, and she may have spent time in Australia, as many of her books are set on that continent. Little is known of her life except for her credits. This is a typical book of its period (published first around 1919) about two small children and their dog on holiday at the seaside with their governess. Bound in blue with a black vignette on the front and the title, also in black on the spine. The cover is scraped in places but in very good condition for its age. On the front fixed end paper is a Sunday School Award certificate dated 1934, and both sets of end papers are badly discoloured by age. There is a full length split between the frontispiece and the title page exposing the webbing but the rest of the text block is still tight, though there is considerable age spotting. However, it is fair to say the book is in very good condition overall.
