The Classical Guitar - its evolution, players and personalities since 1800

£14.99

Product description

Used, good condition, soft cover, third edition published 1992. Although many books have been written on the subject of the guitar this is the first book to cover in a definitive way the classical guitar since 1800. This is the third edition, updated and enlarged, and probably the most complete work dealing with the modern classical guitar. The main part of the book is devoted to detailed biographies of the major classical guitarists and guitar personalities since 1800. Through these, and the chapter devoted to its evolution, the reader can gain a full and clear picture of the classical guitar's development since the beginning of the nineteenth century. Also included are informative sections on composers, scholars, flamenco guitarists and guitar makers.
There is bumping to the top and bottom of the spine and all four corners of the soft cover, and a slight tear to the bottom of the spine. The bottom front corner of the cover is creased and there are light scratches and dents to the front and back cover. However the binding is sound and all the pages are unmarked. There is very slight indentation to the outer edge of about 6 pages but no other markings to the pages. The book is approximately A4 size - 30cm x 21cm.
