The Cycle of Weathering

£9.99

Product description

This work by a leading Russian pedologist is an attempt to write a comprehensive account of the "crust of weathering." The author has worked for many years on problems which have a direct connection with the processes of weathering and the results of the author's investigations are incorporated in the book. To some extent the author's own observations are to be found in each chapter, but in the last chapter they occupy a larger place and find their greatest development in the theory of the distribution of continental deposits. The translation of Professor Polynov's work will make available for English-speaking readers the researches of Russian workers in this field. It will be found valuable by all who are interested in Soil Science as well as by those interested in geological processes and the origin of sedimentary rocks. (Blurb from front of dust jacket.)

Very good condition book with fair dust jacket. Blue cloth boards are clean and undamaged. Pages are tanned but otherwise unmarked. Binding is sound. Previous owners name on ffep. Dust jacket is discoloured and grubby with wear at corners and edges.
