A book produced to coincide with the 2006 exhibition at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (formerly the Prince of Wales Museum of Western India) of the illustrations painted by Imam Bakhsh Lahori to accompany the fables of Jean de La Fontaine. This lovely collection contains the fables in both French and English, along with their accompanying artwork. Also included are two introductions, one by Christianne Sinnig-Haas and the second by Jean-Marie Lafont, as well as a description of the exhibition by Kalpana S. Desai.
In very good condition with just some just some shelf-wear and sticker residue to back cover (please see photo 3) and small orange-ink marks at the top of spine (please see photo 4). There is also colour transfer from the gold first end page to the copyright page (please see photo 5).
