The Girls of St Olaves

£14.99

Product description

Considering its age at over 80 year old, this book is in considerably good condition: the pages are darkening and the cover is marked and worn, but it is otherwise readable and a book with a certain charm (please see attached photos). It even possess a history of its own outside of the actual story it tells, being signed by previous owners in 1939 and labelled as an award from Cross Street Baptist Chapel in Arnold, Nottingham.

Margaret MacDonald moves to a new school, a Scot amongst the English and finding little love from her classmates - or teachers - initially. Her rebellious nature soon gets her into trouble as she struggles to come to terms with her new surroundings... Written in a different age and place, the story itself is surprisingly relateable yet refreshingly different at the same time. Readers with a want for the past, and perhaps younger readers with a curious mind, would find a lot to enjoy in this book! Buy it while it's still available!
