The Gramophone

£19.99

Product description

The Gramophone , Long Playing Classical Record Catalogue, Compiled by S. A. Day ~ December 1959. The book contains 327 pages , through which explore the best classical composers and artists in December 1959. The book still contains old adverts from concerts of the recommended composers and artists. It also contains a few prints in black from the adverts and to show some of the artists, the front cover's red colours are still bright and vivid.

The book is a Paperback.

The book's condition is good : the pages are mostly clean and unmarked but the whole book in general has a bit of spotting. (The spotting has only really occurred on the front cover near the spine and on the first front pages, also on the back cover which is where it occurs more frequently, and on the very back page. All the pages are very brown or orange but the text on the pages is still bold and bright ( along with the adverts). The front cover has red colouring that hasn't faded and is vivid. The corners of the book show signs of shelf wear and have also been folded before(there are also some rips in the paper at the very top and bottom corners of the spine )The spine is also a bit darker compared to the rest of the book , this could be due to discolouration or it might be intentionally darker. But the binding of the pages to the spine is still strong. The staples from the binding are also visible on the very front page , there was probably once glue that kept the cover stuck partially over them but this has come off over time. The book's overall condition is good due to it being Softback and due to the age of it.
