Compiled from German and other foreign authors. 8vo., with 17 engraved plates (including 2 folding), (8) + 352 + (8)pp., including the index, intermittent minor soiling through use, bookplate (?) removed from front pastedown, contemporary ruled calf with raised bands, unlettered, rather worn. Nonetheless a good, sound, copy. First published in 1738 and much expanded in all later 18th century editions. This was a comprehensive and practical manual for an enormous range of arts and crafts. A second volume was published in 1756.
Neatly rebound in leather. Pages clean and bright and unfoxed, exceptionally good condition.
