The Last Kings of Thule

£29.99

Product description

Thule - Ultima Thule, the most northernly point in the world - was, when Jean Malaurie arrived there in 1950, still a mere settlement of Eskimo hunters, and beyond it lay the Arctic wilderness as far as the Pole. Malaurie eventually came to know these Eskimos intimately by living with them. These journeys documented by Malaurie provide the most exciting reading to be found in Polar travel, and the whole book is permeated with Gallic wit and sensitivity.

Condition: Good.
The dust jacket is in a good condition, although there is a crease to the dust-jacket around spine area and a tear measuring 3cm to back cover. The dust-jacket comes in protective plastic. First UK Edition. 295 pp. Fore-edge displays signs of slight yellowing. Top-edge coloured blue. Original price tag remains unclipped. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or underlining - monochrome photograph, illustrations etc. included.
