The book has card covers with leather binding on the spine and spine edge of the front and back covers and also the corners of the front and back covers. There is gilt text on the spine of the book. The pages have rough-cut edges. Attached to the front free end paper is a 'Preparing for Publication' label for a different book.

There is rubbing and a little bumping to the covers of the book. There is a small library label on the inside of the front cover (the only library label) and an ex-libris label. A name is written in pen on the inside of the front cover. There is light foxing to the front and rear free- and paste-down end papers. There is the odd spot of foxing to a few of the inside pages, otherwise the pages are clean. The binding is firm.

All-in-all, it is in very good condition for its age.
