William Fiddian Reddaway (1872-1949) was a historian and Fellow of King’s College, Cambridge. ‘The Monroe Doctrine’ was his first published work.

The US policy of opposing any further European colonization in North America (but not interfering with existing colonies) was first stated by President James Monroe in 1823. By the end of the 19th century it was seen as a defining principle of US foreign policy.

Hardback, no dust jacket. Some bumps to covers and a tear at the top of the spine, plus some fraying cloth. Previous owner’s name on front endpaper.
