First edition, published in 1928 by Jonathan Cape in their Traveller's Library Series.

Compiled by Edward Thomas, it contains over 200 songs many with music included, from a variety of sources. Some will be familiar to many readers.

Has an inscription on the front end paper, of Rosalind Hill, the noted Oxford academic, dated November 1919.

There is a small amount of wear on the covers and spine is a bit faded. However the internal pages are in a fairly clean condition with a sound binding. The page edges are a little dusty.
