The True Adventures of The Rolling Stones

£20.00

Product description

383pp. 1985. Hardback. good condition. Rubbing to DJ edges. Sunning to DJ. Hardback panels and spine in fine condition. Clean text. Some sunning to outer page edges.

In October 1969 Stanley Booth, a young rock journalist at the beginning of his career, received the 'full and exclusive co-operation' of the Rolling Stones for a book he hoped to write about them. Now, fifteen years later, we have that book. The True Adventures of The Rolling Stones is, also, the story of the book - a story that was to cost Booth everything but his life. Beaten up by Confederate soldiers and Hell's Angels, he would go to jail, be run over by a lumber truck, break his back, and suffer from epileptic fits while trying to withdraw from drugs. 'All I got was the story', he says, 'and I got to hear the band play'.
