Second, enhanced edition of the 1892 handbook on toothed gears, originally published as a series of articles in the English Mechanic. Illustrated with 184 detailed mechanical drawings. Only so much of mathematics is introduced as is necessary to establish fundamental principles, but the practical methods of formation of tooth profiles have been treated fully. Brown cloth boards and spine in good condition. Some very small white paint stain in the spine and back board. Sound binding, with a couple of signatures starting but not loose. Age-toned edges, slightly foxed. Contents clean, free from damage, marks or inscriptions, a few pages mildly foxed but text and illustrations not affected.
