This book is an extract of a diary kept by the Reverend Benjamin Armstrong (1817-1890). The diary begins in 1852 and continues on until his final entry in 1887, making mention of events such as the funeral of the Duke of Wellington, the Crimea War, the start of the US Civil War, the death of Prince Albert and the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. It also mentions local events and scandals as well as family matters, all including the occasional black and white illustration or photograph. The book is in good condition, with only some minor bowing to show age, inside the pages are clean and the binding strong, while the illustrations are clear.
